AXA XL’s Design Professional insurance business has announced the promotion of three people to the newly created role of zonal manager, which will align its underwriting teams more closely to the company’s US regional operating model. Bob McLucas has been named East Zone manager, Keilan King has been promoted to West Zone manager, and Jeff Statham has been appointed Central Zone manager.
“Our Design Professional team has a long history of working closely with brokers and design service clients to provide insurance and loss prevention education that helps clients manage their professional risks,” said Nicole Mangino, head of underwriting for Design Professional. “Now, in closely aligning with our zonal teams, we’re getting even closer to our broker partners and insureds, while at the same time giving them more convenient access to AXA XL’s whole team of multi-line insurance and risk management resources in the region.”
McLucas has more than 25 years of underwriting experience, beginning with his first position at AXA XL in business development with the company’s environmental business. In 2008, McLucas joined the Design Professional underwriting team and has since held various positions of increasing responsibility. As East Zone manager, he assumes underwriting management responsibility for design firms along the East Coast.
King began her underwriting career in 2014 with AXA XL’s E&S underwriting team. She joined Design Professional in 2021. As West Zone manager, King will be based in Denver and assume responsibility for the western US.
