AXIS Insurance has appointed two new senior underwriters for its US excess & surplus property team.
Both Chelsea McIntyre and Nicholas Crowder join the team as vice presidents, and will help develop AXIS’s E&S property book in the West Coast and Chicago regions, respectively.
McIntyre joins AXIS Insurance from Westchester, where she was an assistant vice president. With nearly a decade of insurance experience, she previously held underwriting roles at Golden Bear Insurance, Allied World and Ironshore. In her new role, she will be based in San Francisco and will report to AXIS Insurance senior vice president of E&S property Michael Worman.
Crowder has almost a decade of E&S property experience and five years of technical risk experience. He most recently served as an assistant vice president at AmRisc. Prior to that, he worked at companies such as Zurich and Allianz Global. He will be based in Chicago and will report to AXIS Insurance senior vice president of E&S property Joe Pisoni.
“Chelsea and Nicholas each bring proven technical underwriting skills and an established ability to cultivate mutually beneficial broker relationships,” said AXIS Insurance head of E&S property Michael Carr. “We are delighted to welcome them to the team and believe they will be strong contributors as we continue to grow our E&S business.”
Also this week, AXIS Insurance formed a partnership with managing general underwriter Petplan to provide underwriting capacity for comprehensive pet insurance policies for pet dogs and cats in the US and Canada.
