Global law firm Clyde & Co has expanded its Washington, D.C., office with the hiring of a new insurance team.
The team includes nine lawyers: partners Doug Mangel, John Hockenbury, Joe Bailet and Alex Karam, along with five associates. The practice began operations last year with a six-partner insurance team.
The new line-up specializes in financial institutions/directors and officers and professional liability coverage. They represent large commercial insurers nationwide as coverage, monitoring and litigation counsel.
“Further strengthening our insurance practice in Washington, D.C., is another sign of our commitment to continued expansion in the United States,” said Simon Konsta, Clyde & Co senior partner.
“Doug, John, Joe and Alex and their team will be great additions to our insurer-focused practice in Washington, D.C., and will expand our core practice areas of FI D&O and professional liability coverage work for insurers,” said Leslie Ahari, managing partner of the company’s D.C. office.
