Everest Re Group has announced the appointment of Mike Mulray as the new executive vice president and president of North America Insurance, effective immediately.
Mulray assumes the role after serving as global chief operating officer for Everest Insurance. Since joining Everest in 2015 as chief underwriting officer, he has led several of the insurance division’s key functional areas, including actuarial pricing & modeling, business performance management & analytics, corporate underwriting, risk & ceded reinsurance, operations, and the innovation team eIQ. Additionally, he is a member of the Everest executive leadership committee.
In his new role, Mulray will be responsible for leading all aspects of North America Insurance, which is the division’s largest portfolio. He will report to Mike Karmilowicz, president and CEO of Everest Insurance.
Karmilowicz welcomed Mulray’s appointment and said the move brings “a dedicated, regional focus and superior service to our clients throughout the United States, Canada, and Bermuda.”
“Mike has been instrumental to our success and is a strong advocate for our inclusive culture,” he said. “I look forward to working closely with him in his new role as we deepen our North America presence and advance our position as a global, diversified, world-class insurer.”
Mulray has more than 25 years of insurance leadership experience. He spent time at GE and Aon Risk Services prior to joining Everest.
Everest president and CEO Juan C. Andrade also praised Mulray’s appointment, stating that his leadership of the North America region would enable clients to continue receiving “innovative, tailored solutions with speed and efficiency that address their increasingly complex challenges.”
Mulray is Everest’s latest appointment. Earlier this year, it named Srini Maddineni as its new group chief information officer. Maddineni assumed the role after serving as Everest’s senior vice president and global CIO for insurance and reinsurance systems.
