Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Walsdorf Agency in Huntington, NY.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Walsdorf Agency, founded in 1926, is a third generation, family-owned commercial and personal lines insurance agency; a release noted that the agency has “strong real estate niche expertise.” Following the acquisition, David L. Walsdorf, Louis J. Walsdorf and their associates will be relocating to Gallagher’s Jericho, NY office. They will be working under the supervision of Gallagher Northeast region retail P&C brokerage operations head Patrick Kennedy.
“The Walsdorf Agency has a great reputation in the market and will help us further expand and support our growing real estate practice,” commented Gallagher chairman, president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr. “I am very pleased to welcome David, Louis and their associates to our growing global team.”
In December, Gallagher appointed Jen Tadin to the position of president of small business for the company’s US retail P&C brokerage division. Tadin, who is currently a member of the Forbes Business Development Council, will be responsible for overseeing Gallagher’s small business operation.
