The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) has promoted Elizabeth Myatt to the new position of vice-president, chief program officer.
In the newly-created role, Myatt will focus on the continued growth of IICF conference programming and thought leadership – particularly in the realm of insurance industry leadership and innovation, as well as philanthropic contributions to the community, a release said.
Myatt is currently the executive director of IICF’s Northeast division, a role she has held since 2008. The division has been instrumental in granting over $8.6 million to non-profit and charitable organizations in the region – especially those organizations focused in the areas of education, at-risk children and families, the environment, and disaster preparedness.
According to a company release, it was under Myatt’s leadership that the Northeast division expanded from the New York tri-state area to include New England (with a Boston Chapter) and the Delaware Valley area (via a Philadelphia Chapter).
Myatt has also served as the chairwoman of the IICF’s successful Women in Insurance Conference Series since its inception in 2013.
Prior to joining IICF, Myatt served executive roles in non-profit organizations, such as her roles as CEO of the World Lung Foundation in New York and chief technology officer of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). She has also held leadership roles within for-profit organizations, having served as chief technology officer and chief operating officer for companies in industries such as financial services, manufacturing, and software. Myatt has also worked for a management consulting company in the insurance industry.
She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, and began her professional career as an English teacher in an underserved community.
