Risk Placement Services (RPS) has announced the appointment of Joe Clifford (pictured) to lead its self-insured workers’ compensation programs in Michigan within the RPS Signature Programs division. Clifford succeeds Tom Hanna, who has retired.
Clifford has spent his entire career in Michigan self-insured workers’ compensation program administration. He has years of expertise in each of the areas required to effectively manage self-insured group funds, RPS said.
“Joe Clifford’s succession to this role is proof of Tim Hanna’s success in developing high-caliber experts within the Signature Programs division,” said Chris Leisz, president of RPS Signature Programs. “Joe is a well-recognized industry leader and represents the type of expertise resident within our division to support independent agents and insureds. He is well-qualified to lead us to continued growth and profitability within these programs.”
In his new role, Clifford will be responsible for the oversight and management of seven Michigan self-insured funds currently under RPS management. His team manages the largest number of group workers’ compensation funds in the state, according to RPS.
