Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has expanded its environmental impairment liability (EIL) team in North America with three key hires. Annalisa Ahumada has been appointed as an underwriting specialist in Chicago, Andrew Hill has been hired as an executive underwriter in New York, and Mark Heigh has been named an underwriting specialist in Philadelphia.
“An increased focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues across multiple industries has prompted businesses to look closer at reducing their carbon footprint and implementing responsible business practices,” said Steve Tagert, regional environmental practice group leader for North America. “AGCS is responding and strengthening our underwriting expertise by adding talent to our North America EIL team in order to align with and support the changing risk management needs of our clients.”
In her new role, Ahumada will be responsible for growing and managing AGCS’s environmental impairment liability business in the Midwest and growing broker and client relationships in these product areas. She has more than 18 years of experience in managing and underwriting environmental risk, as well as extensive experience evaluating environmental conditions, health and safety, mitigation and sustainability measures. Prior to joining AGCS, Ahumada held senior environmental underwriting positions at Chubb, Zurich NA and AIG. She also previously served as an environmental engineer for Chicago’s Department of Environment.
In his new role, Hill will be responsible for driving new and renewal business opportunities for the EIL business across the Northeast region and managing broker relationships. Before joining AGCS, he held environmental underwriting and risk analyst positions at Chubb and Santander Bank.

Heigh will be responsible for driving EIL business production in the Northeast. Before joining AGCS, Heigh served as an environmental underwriter at Philadelphia Insurance Companies and Chubb.
“AGCS EIL is focused on growing underwriting talent to help our customers evaluate their risk management strategies to address environmental exposures that can have a big impact on their operations and bottom line,” Tagert said. “These new hires will help us deliver the market-leading insurance solutions our brokers and clients require to drive their business success, as well as bring additional knowledge to our expert team of AGCS EIL underwriters and specialists.”
