AXA XL’s political risk, credit and bond (PRCB) business has announced the appointment of Gabriel Okolski as senior underwriter for the Americas. Okolski is based in Washington, D.C., and will report to Jeff Abramson, underwriting manager for special risks, PRCB.
“Gabriel brings extensive experience in credit analysis and structuring and deep expertise and broad relationships in the aviation finance sector,” Abramson said. “He will be a great asset to our growing team of political risk and credit insurance experts here in D.C.”
In his new role, Okolski will be responsible for new business production, underwriting and client and broker relationships. He will work with the Americas PRCB and specialty leadership teams to inform the overall growth strategy, with a focus on the further development of aviation finance activity.

Prior to joining AXA XL, Okolski served as senior vice president and credit and finance analyst at Marsh, where he worked exclusively on the Aircraft Finance Insurance Consortium program for nearly five years. Before joining Marsh, he served as a senior transportation loan officer for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, where he focused on the structuring and execution of more than $3 billion in aircraft financing for airlines across the globe.
Okolski began his career in commercial aviation as a transportation industry analyst at the US Department of Transportation. He is an instrument-rated private pilot.
