To ensure business continuity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, risk and claims management services firm Gallagher Bassett (GB) has announced the formation of a task force.

GB’s “Global Coronavirus Task Force” is comprised of business experts across major injury exposures. The team, according to a release, has three main objectives: maintain the seamless delivery of GB’s service offerings; protect GB’s other teams around the globe from exposure to the virus; and handle the claims of end clients related to potential COVID-19 exposure.

“With the situation changing daily, we are ready to help our clients and partners navigate these challenging and uncertain times with confidence,” said GB North America CEO Mike Hessling.

Hessling added that the Global Task Force will allow GB to help its risk management, carrier, and captive insurance clients address health and safety, reduce risk, and manage claims effectively.

Hessling was appointed CEO of GB North America just last month.

In addition to the task force, GB has also expanded its other services to better assist clients in facing challenges brought about by the pandemic. GB’s managed care platform, GBCARE, is offering enhanced nurse triage, telemedicine and nurse care management services to help ensure proper medical treatment. GB’s technical services division is also supporting companies to design and implement industrial hygiene and decontamination services. Finally, GB has also launched its own online resource center on the coronavirus – which contains tools and articles by claims experts and health professionals, allowing insurance company clients to manage and communicate information about the outbreak.
