Zurich North America has announced the appointment of Trey Martino as regional vice president of the middle market unit’s Northwest Region.
Martino (pictured above) will be based in Zurich’s Chicago office and will report to John Diaz, chief operating officer, US middle market.
In his new role, Martino will be responsible for driving the success of Zurich’s middle market book of business in the region, including cultivating distributor and customer relationships and developing underwriting talent.

Martino joins the company from Sompo International, where he most recently served as head of Asia-Pacific for Global Risk Solutions. His previous roles at Sompo International include global head of Global Risk Solutions Private Equity and regional underwriting executive. Martino has also held leadership roles at Blackboard Insurance and Travelers.
